We’re pleased to announce the latest addition to our team. Alex Casebolt is a Certified Physician Assistant with more than 25 years experience in primary care, urgent care, occupational medicine, and regenerative medicine.

Alex’s decades in practice have taken him across the country. An Idaho native and Caldwell High School graduate, he didn’t always plan on going into medicine. However, after starting college at Idaho State University, he enrolled in a pre-medical program and quickly discovered his passion for providing care. He was accepted into Des Moines University’s physician assistant program in Iowa, where he earned both his bachelor of science in health and his PA-C certificate, and gained early clinical experience through various residencies throughout the state. He later returned to Idaho and began practicing at Boise’s Micron Health Clinic. Since then, his career path has included serving patients throughout the Treasure Valley and working with the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and St. Luke’s Medical Center. At St. Alphonsus and St. Luke’s, Alex primarily worked in occupational medicine, a field that focuses on workplace-related injuries. This specialty requires a thorough understanding of effective care practices and a wide range of local, state, and federal regulations.

Even as he’s moved between hospitals and professional disciplines, Alex’s motivation is the same today as it was when he finished school in Iowa: helping people understand how their bodies work with compassion and empathy, and giving patients the knowledge and care they need to overcome injuries and illness. “I truly love medicine,” he says. “I love helping people—that’s why I do what I do.”

As one of our urgent care practitioners at Core Medicine of Idaho, Alex says his primary goal is to keep people out of the ER as much as possible. He complements Core Medicine’s CORE values: high-quality urgent care and family practice that puts patients’ needs first, providing Caldwell, Middleton, Nampa, and Star residents convenient access to efficient treatment that doesn’t cost unnecessary time or money.

Alex Casebolt Isn’t the Only New Member of Our Caldwell Team

Alex is one of five former Saltzer Medical Group employees who moved to Core Medicine of Idaho. He’s excited to be an integral member of our acute care and family medicine team—and we’re thrilled to have him and his decades of experience in our Caldwell urgent care.

The closure of Saltzer’s clinics left an estimated 30,000 patients without access to their providers—but Core Medicine has since stepped up to fill the gap. Along with Alex, we’re pleased to welcome these four Canyon County health providers:

  • Tina Bossolono-Williams, FNPC, a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 25 years of medical experience, a passion for helping children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, and experience working with at-risk populations and patients seeking effective weight loss solutions.
  • Jennifer King, DNPC, a registered Doctor of Nursing Practice with over 25 years of experience providing care to pediatric patients, members of the transgender community, and people who suffering from intense and chronic migraines.
  • Kari Lopez, FNP, a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with nearly a decade of experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment, and care management.
  • David Sjostrand, FNPC, a Family Nurse Practitioner who prioritizes provider-patient communication and has a special interest in behavioral health and the management of chronic medical conditions.
