We’re excited to announce a new addition to our Caldwell urgent care team. Kari Lopez is a board-certified nurse practitioner with nearly 20 years of professional experience. Kari is one of five former Saltzer Medical Group employees who moved to Core Medicine of Idaho. Before leaving Saltzer in March, she worked in urgent care and family practice—with most of her experience obtained in and around the Nampa and Caldwell areas. Kari-Lopez-nurse-practitioner

Although Kari may be a familiar face for many of our neighbors, she’s excited to make the transition from a larger organization to our patient-oriented and community-focused urgent care. “I really like the small, independent feel of the company,” Kari said of Core Medicine. “It has more of a small-town, personal feel—versus the big corporate world of just being [another] number.”

For Kari, making the move from Saltzer to Core Medicine of Idaho isn’t just a matter of practicality. A graduate of Boise State University with an undergraduate degree in nursing, a master’s of science in nursing, and her nurse practitioner license, she’s spent much of her career prioritizing the needs of her neighbors in and around Caldwell.

Kari’s approach to primary care combines knowledge, experience, and practicality, emphasizing the relationship between patients and providers. “I enjoy educating people about their bodies, minds, and medications,” she said, “and also teaching more of a preventative focus for care.”

Kari’s philosophy complements Core Medicine’s CORE values: high-quality urgent care and family practice that puts patients’ needs first, providing Caldwell, Middleton, Nampa, and Star residents convenient access to efficient treatment that doesn’t cost unnecessary time or money.

Kari Lopez Isn’t the Only New Addition to Our Team

Kari is one of five former Intermountain Health employees who made the decision to join us after the Utah-based company closed its Saltzer Health offices in the Treasure Valley. The closure of Saltzer Health left an estimated 30,000 patients throughout the Valley in search of alternative medical care—a need that Core Medicine of Idaho is stepping up to meet.

Along with Kari, we’re also very pleased to welcome four more experienced Canyon County health providers at our Caldwell urgent care and family care practice:

  • Tina Bossolono-Williams, FNPC, a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 25 years of health care experience, and a passion for helping children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, at-risk populations, and patients seeking effective weight loss solutions.
  • Alex Casebolt, PA-C, a Certified Physician Assistant with more than 27 years of experience working in primary care, urgent care, occupational medicine, and regenerative medicine.
  • Jennifer King, DNPC, a registered Doctor of Nursing Practice with over 25 years of experience providing care to pediatric patients, people who suffer from chronic migraines, and members of the transgender community.
  • David Sjostrand, FNPC, a Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong commitment to provider-patient communication, a special professional interest in behavioral health, and a focused dedication to the treatment of chronic medical conditions.
